Alamance County Right to Life Pro-life Vigil

While tens of thousands of people gather in Washington every January to commemorate the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, another group gathers every year in Alamance County to be a local presence to remember and pray.

This year, slightly over 100 people gathered around the court square in Graham on Monday, January 22.

Gathering around the square at 7 pm, this group of faithful locals were welcomed by Amy Huffman, chairman of Alamance Right to Life, and were then led in a meditation and prayer by the Rev.

Charles Spomer, pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Burlington, and finally listened to a hymn sung by local worship musician Hope Kemp.

Following this portion, those gathered took candles, lit them, and circled the courthouse for 15 minutes of silent prayer and meditation, to remember those who have been victims of the tragedy of abortion, and to pray for an end to America's disregard for the lives of the unborn.   After the 15 minutes of prayer, the candles were extinguished, and participants left silently.
