I am thrilled to welcome all of you to the North Carolina Right to Life’s 18th Annual Prayer Breakfast for Life. What a privilege it is to come together and speak out on behalf of so many unborn lives who cannot speak for themselves.
As you all know, the Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade to uphold the legalization of abortion more than 40 years ago. Since that time, it’s estimated that over 55 million innocent children have been killed as a result of abortions in the United States. This anniversary is a heartbreaking reminder that we have much work to do in the pro-life movement.
However, that is why it is so critical that you and so many others like you are here today. As members of the pro-life movement, it is on us to spread the message and speak out about the principle that human life is sacred – beginning at conception and ending in natural death.
I am so encouraged to welcome all of you on this both sobering occasion and yet wonderful reminder that life is truly precious. Let us never forget to continue fighting to preserve life. As always, I am incredibly thankful for the North Carolina Right to Life for their tireless work in defending the pro-life cause.
