North Carolina Right to Life (NCRTL), as the state affiliate of the National Right to Life Committee, has the opportunity to send a student to compete in the national Jane B. Thompson Oratory Contest, held at National Right to Life’s annual convention. The 2016 NRLC Contest will be held in Herndon, Virginia on July 9th. The contest is open to high school juniors and seniors.
NCRTL will host our state contest in Greensboro, NC. Our local winner will receive up to $300 to be used toward travel to the national competition. Participants in the national contest will compete for cash prizes.
Materials Needed for Educators and Contestants
Stephen Holly, a rising high school senior, won the NCRTL Oratory Contest on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Stephen is from Wake Forest, NC. His speech focused on abortion. Stephen received a certificate, a pro-life T-shirt, and registration to Camp Joshua NC in July.

In 2012, the winner of our contest, Nikita Chintalapudi (on the right), placed third in the competition. The contest is open to junior and senior high school students.
