Halifax Mall, Raleigh, NC
Hundreds of North Carolinians will gather in the state capital to acknowledge the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and recall the more than 57 million unborn children whose lives have been taken by abortion in our country since 1973.
Join us as we march to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to standing for life until unborn children are safe from the violence of abortion.
Location: Halifax Mall on Lane Street, behind the Legislative Building and between Legislative Office and Education buildings (see link for the downtown map for location and parking)
Timeline: Rally beginning at 1:15 pm, immediately followed by the march
Parking: There is free parking across N. Salisbury Street from the Legislative Office Building. See the downtownmap.
We encourage you to organize groups to attend and march under an identifying banner to represent your church, school, or community.
Featured rally speakers: Alan and Lisa Robertson
Alan Robertson is the oldest son of The Duck Commander. He grew up hunting and fishing and helped build the foundation of the family business in the ’70s and ’80s. Back in the day, he and Phil would travel around Louisiana and Arkansas selling duck calls to stores right out of their truck. The sales pitch back then was the same as it is today: “These calls are the best ’cause they sound just like a duck!”
Recently, Alan has returned to the family business after serving in full-time ministry for more than 25 years. Alan plays a vital role in the family’s commitment to spreading the gospel of Christ through their love of hunting and the great outdoors. The only Robertson without a beard, he calls himself a “Jacob” in a family of “Esaus.”
Lisa Robertson is the original Robertson daughter-in-law—married to Alan —the oldest son of Phil and Kay Robertson. Lisa was instructed in the ways of the kitchen by Miss Kay and continues to help her and Phil with their busy speaking and appearance schedule. Lisa co-authored, The Women of Duck Commander, with her sisters-in-law and Miss Kay, released in April, 2014.
Lisa and Al have been married for over 30 years and have been sharing ministry and speaking at churches, marriage retreats and seminars for over 15 years. Lisa has a powerful life change story that impacts the lives of those she meets. She and Al co-authored a book that released in January, 2015 titled A New Season that talks about their lives and marriage. They are currently working on a Couple’s Devotional book to be released in the fall of 2015. Lisa is Al’s assistant, helping to manage their schedule and speaking opportunities.
Al and Lisa have 2 grown daughters; Anna (their oldest) and her husband, Jay have three beautiful daughters Carley, Bailey & Sage, and Alex (the youngest) and her husband Vinny who have a son, Corban. Al and Lisa’s entire family reside in the West Monroe.
Rev. Mark H. Creech will give the Invocation. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Christian Action League. He has held this position since November of 1999. Before taking this position, Rev. Creech served as a pastor for twenty years, ministering to six Churches: Davis Grove Baptist, Snow Hill, NC 1980-1982; First Baptist, LaGrange, NC 1982-1987; Harmony Baptist, Bunnlevel, NC, 1987-1989; Faith Bible Church, Little Genesee, NY 1989-1990; Antioch Baptist, Middlesex, NC 1990-1997 and Parish Memorial Baptist, Selma, NC 1997-1999.
Serving as a registered lobbyist in the North Carolina General Assembly, Rev. Creech meets regularly with State lawmakers. His efforts have been responsible for getting some very important pro-family pieces of legislation through the General Assembly.
The 4th Degree Color Guard of the State Council of the Knights of Columbus will present the colors and lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance and the March for Life.
Don’t forget to register to hear Alan and Lisa Robertson speak at the Prayer Breakfast for Life, taking place prior to the rally and march.
