At the 2007 Rally for
Life, the newly installed 5th Bishop of the Diocese of
Raleigh, Bishop
Michael F. Burbidge will give the Invocation and remarks at the
beginning of the Rally.
The North
Carolina Knights of Columbus State Council 4th Degree
Members will present the colors and lead the Pledge of Allegiance to
the Flag. Proclamations and greetings from elected officials will be
read.
All will have the
opportunity to hear from students who are involved in Students for Life
groups on their campuses. These featured speakers include the President
of Carolina Students for Life: Ashley Tyndall, President of N.C.
State Students for Life: Phil Koshute, and President of St. Thomas
More’s Students for Life: Carrie Faur. These students will share
about their experience in the pro-life movement and challenge other young
people to start Students for Life groups on their campuses. They will
encourage other students to make their voice heard by getting involved
with pro-life activities in their community. This will be an exciting
occasion for us to hear from the next generation of pro-life leaders who
are stepping up to take a stand for the sanctity of all innocent human
life.
We will also have
the opportunity to hear from the winner of the 2006 National Right to
Life Oratory Contest, James Wegmann. James will present his winning
speech at the event.

Immediately
following the Rally, the March will begin with the Knights of Columbus
Color Guard leading the way. The March will end with refreshments
provided by North Carolina Right to Life in the parking lot of Sacred
Heart Cathedral. Youth, school, church and other groups are especially
encouraged to carry banners denoting the name of their particular group.
All are encouraged to bring signs which proclaim a pro-life message.
Youth groups are
encouraged to participate in a
Spare Change for Life Baby
Bottle Drive to raise much
needed funds for the life-saving, life-affirming work of North Carolina
Right to Life. Filled bottles will be collected at the end of the March.
